Kelcey What a Beautiful Baby

I would just like to say that I have the most beautiful daughter named Kelcey in the whole entire world. She is 5 months old and is a little chunk. She is in the 95th percentile for her weight and in the 50th percentile for her height. Let's just say she is short and fat (ha ha ha). She has blue eyes and fuzzy blonde hair. She has a little bald spot in the back where she has rubbed her hair off. She is the best baby in the whole entire world. She only cries when she is hungry. Just feed her every 3 hours and you are set. She is absolutely darling. She is the best natured baby. I am crazy about her. She loves her luvy named Midge and her jumperoo. She is beginning to interact with Koen. He makes her laugh and smile all the time. He is the best big brother. I love you Kelcey.

Scared of the Dark

A couple of weeks ago Koen started becoming scared of the dark. KC and I were forced to leave his door open and the hall light on. Every night he would scamper into our room with everything but the kitchen sink, throw it in our bed, and climb in between us. It would then take him about 2 hours to settle in and actually fall asleep. He also sleeps like a freaking ninja. All of a sudden I get a karate chop to the nose. Doesn't feel so great. He tells us our bed is "totally comfy." KC and I have given in and on occasion we let him fall asleep in our bed, from the get go. They are only little once and we better enjoy it while we can. I wouldn't have thought I would ever have let this happen.

Happy Birthday Koen Day

Tomorrow is such a wonderful day for our family. Three years ago KC and I were blessed with the birth of our beautiful son Koen. He has brought such joy and excitement into our life. He was born at 11:30 pm on January 19, 2006 at McKay Dee Hospital. I was in labor with Koen for almost 24 hours. I thought he was never going to come. Biz Nonna, Nonni, Pops, Grandma Bus, Grandpa Sei, Grandpa David, and Grandma Judy were all waiting for him to arrive. It finally happened and boy were we all excited. After he came I didn't want him to ever leave my sight. The only time he left the room was when the nurse had to take him. KC was so proud of him. I have never seen KC look so happy. Koen was such a wonderful baby. He was so happy.

This year for his birthday party we decided to have it at Classic Skating Fun Center. He loves the bounce houses. The party did have a construction theme. We invited Kyson, Wrace, Blakely, Reese, Austen, Darium, Ryken, Ashton, McKenna, Jax, Jack, Parker, & Camden. All the kids had such a wonderful time. Koen tried skating for the first time and I am a little scared that he is going to have coordination like his dad.

Koen I want you to know how much we love you and thanks for everything you have brought into our lives.

Koen's 1st Dentist Appointment

Today was Koen's 1st dentist appointment and I thought it was going to be a total nightmare. However, I was pleasantly surprised when he let the dentist count how many teeth he had. The dentist did have to entice him with a stretchy lizard, but whatever works. We may have problems later on because Koen is a huge thumb sucker, but I am not going to worry about it right now.

Koen's Date with Mom and Dad

Yesterday KC and I decided to take Koen on a date. It was so much fun. We rode down to Salt Lake on the Frontrunner, took Trax to the Gateway, let him make a bear at Build-A-Bear, and then we went to lunch at McDonalds. If you haven't been to Build-A-Bear, it is an experience. I didn't realize how popular it was. I thought I would just walk in and build the bear. I didn't know that I would be waiting in line for almost 45 minutes surrounded by a bunch of wild children. I love my own kids and my families kids, but I am not a huge fan of other peoples children. Koen was in heaven running around and checking out all the different "sections." After he built his bear, he got to give it a bath. I think bathing Sam was his favorite part. He washed and brushed him really good. After finally dressing him we decided to pay and go. After that we met Britney, Davey, Max and Ava for lunch at the food court. It was so much fun to get together and have lunch. When you have kids conversation is pretty limited but it was fun to see them. After we ate lunch we rode Trax and the Frontrunner home. Koen slept the whole way. It was a great date. Thanks for the memories.

If She Sets It Up, I Will Do It!

Well I have finally been forced to blog. I told my cousin/sister Britney (this is picture of Brit & Kelcey), that I didn't have time to set up a blog. She said that she would set it up for me, but I had to keep it updated. So, here I go.

My name is Kiley and my husband's name is K.C. We have been married for almost 6 years. We dated 6 years before we got married. We have a son named Koen who will be turning three this month and we have a four month old daughter named Kelcey. Yes, our families names all start with a letter K. After Koen it wouldn't have sounded right if we didn't name our daughter a name that started with a K. Now that I have two kids our family is complete.

I have a full-time job as a Human Resource Officer and I am a full-time Mom. My life is crazy. I thought my life was busy before I had kids, but I don't think I really knew what BUSY was. After having kids I find myself saying, "What did I do before I had kids!" I love being a Mom and there is not another job that is as satisfying.

Since today is January 1, 2009 I have decided to set my New Year's Resolutions. I am going to give up sweets for one year, participate in a triatholon, prepare 72-hour kits for my family, and keep my blog up-to-date. I feel that if I write them down for everyone to see, then it will be harder to break them later on. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

Talk to you soon.
